In 2004 ZEDfactory were asked by ZEDhomes Ltd to propose a solution for a difficult riverside site adjacent to the famous Hammersmith bridge and adjoining Riverside Studios Theatre and art gallery. A 15 storey block with terraced skygardens with amazing river views and a kidney bean shaped plan of 2 blocks was proposed to focus the prevailing wind from the Thames. Sub level parking and connections to the existing river walk were proposed along with links to the theatre and adjacent streets providing café spaces and a local supermarket capturing customers using the river path. The scheme was presented favourably to the Mayors' Urbanism Unit (Lord Rogers of Riverside) however rejected by planners for breaking the riverside the design codes favouring a maximum of 5 storeys.
