Valley Centre - Tamar
Situated in the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Tamar Valley Centre provides a visitor orientation point and community facility as well as office space for the Tamar Valley AONB service and the Parish Council and archive. It offers a multi use exhibition space and information centre where local arts and crafts are displayed alongside information on the World Heritage Site of the Tamar Valley Mining Landscape. It is a super-insulated and thermally-massive building, built around a CNC-cut (computer controlled router) prefabricated heavyweight timber . Two ‘wings’ house the cellular aspects of the brief, leaving a double height space with mezzanine floor between for the exhibition area. |
