ZEDfabric - How we sell?

The company operates on different levels depending on what clients/customers require.

Retail

The retail price is judged to be competitive in the UK. We aim to supply our products at a reasonable price to everyone. Retails prices are for single items or multiple set of equipment either from our showroom, from our ebay shop or from our website shop.

The advantages of this route are :-

  • Immediate gratification. Once a panel has been purchased it can be quickly installed and be creating electricity by the end of the day.
  • Simple, no fuss 'cash and carry' relationship.
  • UK accredited panels available via this route if a GBP granted system is being installed.

The disadvantages are:-

  • Higher cost
  • No investment opportunity

Wholesale

We provide discounted wholesale prices for developers and those wishing to buy in bulk. Wholesale prices tend to be for trade quantities for more than one household and are fixed by boxed quantity sizes. We operate this on a minimum order basis and payment on order.

The advantages of this route are :-

  • Immediate gratification. The quickest we have achieved first enquiry to installation and electricity being generated is 4 days.
  • Simple, no fuss 'cash and carry' relationship.
  • UK accredited panels available via this route if a GBP granted system is being installed.

The disadvantages are:-

  • Higher cost
  • No investment opportunity

Investment (consortium) route

- This is the key route of the ZEDfabric system and how we started.

For a small percentage to cover costs ZEDfabric organise shipping, storage and taxes for the import of consortium members orders. The members provide finance for this process by making payment before the order is placed in China.

The advantage for ZEDfabric is that we do not have to go to the commercial money market to secure finance. This would be expensive and this cost would have to put onto the price of the equipment.

The advantages of this route are :-

  • You can buy high quality renewables at an imported cost price, which can be up to 50% less than the general UK market price.
  • No form filling or Green Buildings Programme (GBP) Grant lottery to achieve the same overall spend that you would have done following the accredited route and managing to obtain a grant.
  • No tie to only being able to use expensive accredited installers in order to have the chance of getting a grant, so DIY/local contractor installation is possible.
  • 60% of the profit made from our sales of your additional equipment is returned to you, potentially making you additional money.

The disadvantages are:-

  • 100% of your money has to paid up front with the order.
  • A three month wait for delivery.
  • We ask that you invest in additional equipment with your order to provide the ZEDshop with stock.
  • Although shipments are fully insured there has to be an understanding that you have become an investor in an import business therefore are party to an element of risk.
  • We ask for a legal declaration to be signed that the equipment will not be resold within 2 years of its delivery. This is necessary in order to prevent a sceptical investor using the consortium as a low cost import mechanism in order for them to then sell equipment on, which would then compete with the ZEDshop.
  • An understanding that the system is organised on a low overhead basis which only pays for limited customer services.
