Gilles is a registered Brazilian architect & urban planner, graduated at PUC-Rio and completed his Masters from the London Metropolitan University inArchitecture, Energy and Sustainability.
Gilles is the design leader for ZEDfactory’s international projects, responsible for the overall design and energy strategies in order to reduce buildings energy and water consumption while providing good levels of natural ventilation and natural lighting.
Gilles was the lead architect of the One Planet Amersfoort Project in Holland, which is a symbolic sustainability retrofit of an office building. He has also been involved in projects in Europe, South America and Asia, such as ‘Yunshe’ Clubhouse in Zhejiang, province of China, The ZED Pavilion for the expo 2010 in Shanghai, GS masterplan project and residential buildings and Posco office buildings in Seoul, Korea. Currently he is leading a large team for a 280.000m2 mixed –use project for the city of Jing De Zhen in China.
Gilles been a visiting lecturer at London Metropolitan University from 2011 to 2013, as well as teaching at UCL for the MSc students of Sustainable Urbanism in 2011.
